PUBLIC WORKS  

SUMMARY:       

The Public Works Maintenance Worker shall perform various construction, repair, maintenance and operation activities in support of the Village of Claycomo, Missouri. 

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:     

To properly function as the Public Works Maintenance Worker, and individual should possess the following:

A high degree of knowledge and skills in construction and building the grounds maintenance and repair
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
High level of public relation and communication skills
Effective time and resource management skills

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:           

In addition to previously mentioned qualifications, the Public Works Maintenance Worker shall have the following responsibilities:

Primary Duties:

Carry out the day-to-day operational activities for construction, repair and maintenance of Village facilities, equipment and grounds in a professional and ethical manner

Specific Duties:

Perform repair and maintenance of Village owned buildings, parking lots, grounds and public easements and right-of-ways to include street and safety signage

Perform various landscaping duties, such as grass and weed cutting, planting maintenance and removal of trees and shrubbery, building and repairing fences, removing litter and applying herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers as needed

Perform general and preventative maintenance, as needed, to keep assigned equipment in good working condition; inspects equipment; checks fluid levels; replaces fluids, greases equipment, washes and cleans equipment; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment

Operates a variety of equipment and machinery to complete tasks; utilizes mechanical, finishing, grading, various power tools and other hand tools and equipment as needed to complete essential functions

Prepares, completes or receives various work orders, maintenance logs, or other documents; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate

Adheres to established safety procedures; monitors work environments and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of self and other individuals; flags and directs traffic and places markers, sign and cones around work site/projects to ensure safety of traveling public, wears protective gear

Maintains inventory of equipment, parts and supplies; collects and transports materials and supplies to and from the job site

Communicates with supervisor, coworkers, other departments, vendors, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, and resolve problems

Operate a personal computer, general office equipment, or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheets, database, or other system software

CURRENT OPENINGS

The Village of Claycomo is accepting resumes / applications for the following positions:


Municipal Court - Part-Time Court Clerk

20-25 Hours/per week

Salary:  $12.00/Hr - $13.75/Hr
 

This position participates in the clerical and judicial administrative functions of the Municipal Court; assists with handling workflow of cases filed; maintains precise and accurate records; collects fines, court costs and bond monies; and maintains bookkeeping records. 

 

Requirements and Work Environment:

Ability to work in a fast paced environment in an efficient & detail oriented manner
Knowledge of general office practices and good organizational skills
Cash handling experience is a plus
Ability to communicate professionally with staff, attorneys, and general public
Must attend night Court sessions generally two Tuesday’s each month
Ability to project a positive and professional image
Minimum requirements include high school diploma or G.E.D.
Ability to perform general clerical work and use basic office & spreadsheet software
Work requires lifting up to 30 pounds
Ability to work a flexible schedule of 16-20 hours per week

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Processes citations and documents accurately in relation to Court procedures
Accepts payments in accordance to the City’s cash handling policy
Manages and maintains confidentiality of all data processing of Court records
Maintains professional conduct and composure even in difficult situations

 

Experience:  One (1) year of responsible clerical experience, preferably in a municipal court setting
