CLAYCOMO POLICE DEPARTMENT

Police Chief Stephen Coonce took lead of the Claycomo Police Department in October 2006. Prior to his move to Claycomo, Missouri, Chief Coonce proudly served the United States Army. In his final assignment before joining the Claycomo Police Department, Coonce served in the 82nd Airborne Division.

Coonce was hired to the CPD in 1995, where he served as an officer until 2000, and moved to the rank of sergeant, before being appointed Chief of Police in 2006

Chief Coonce's passion for police accountability, community policing, police training, hiring practices, and management accountability are what has reinstilled the confidence and stature of the CPD.

Chief Coonce's professional affiliations include the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Metropolitan Police Chief's Association, the Board of the Clay County Investigative Squad, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
