Persons wishing to file a complaint may:

§  Obtain a complaint report from the Claycomo City Hall

If a City Hall employee is unavailable, then you may:

§  Contact any on-duty supervisor

§  Contact the Criminal Investigations Division Commander

The integrity of the Claycomo Police Department depends on the personal integrity and discipline of all our personnel.

All complaints will be appropriately assigned and investigated with the results forwarded to the Chief of Police for final disposition.  You will be routinely contacted by the Internal Affairs Unit to notify you of the status of your complaint.  Police Department and/or city personnel will not discuss the complaint with you until such time as the investigation has been completed by the Internal Affairs Unit and the case has been remanded to the Chief of Police.

Please note that if you have been issued a traffic ticket or ordinance violation, the proper venue to contest the ticket is in court and not by filing a complaint against the officer.  No complaint will be taken or investigated that is in regards to contesting a traffic ticket or ordinance violation.

All complaints must be signed and notarized.  Please be advised that the filing of a false report/complaint will result in the filing of criminal charges.  Falsely accused officers will also pursue civil remedies allowed under Federal Law.

Any person who wishes to file a complaint should follow the outlined procedure provided above, or, if you have difficulties, you may contact:
